The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) is proud to announce its recognition as a finalist in the Best Initiative/Strategic Project category at the 2025 Aesthetics Awards. This recognition highlights the JCCP’s groundbreaking work in public safety and industry transparency, specifically through the launch of its innovative online complaints portal. Launched in April 2023, the portal has already had a significant impact on the aesthetics industry by providing a clear, accessible platform for the public to raise concerns about practitioners, training providers, and product manufacturers.
The initiative is vital to enhancing accountability in the aesthetics field. With the increasing demand for non-surgical aesthetic procedures, the industry must remain committed to ensuring that both practitioners and organisations adhere to the highest ethical standards. The JCCP’s complaints portal plays a pivotal role by enabling individuals to report safety issues or unethical practices with confidence and anonymity. This initiative has already seen over 1,300 complaints submitted, with numerous cases referred to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and other regulatory bodies, showcasing the portal’s effectiveness in addressing concerns swiftly and transparently.
Through strategic partnerships with regulatory organisations such as the ASA, the MHRA, and professional statutory regulators, the JCCP has positioned itself as a leading body in tackling safety and ethical issues in the industry. These collaborations are integral to the complaints resolution process, helping to ensure that practitioners and organisations are held to account for their actions. The JCCP’s portal has not only improved public safety but also contributed to raising the standards across the aesthetics sector.
As the JCCP continues its work to raise industry standards and enhance public protection, winning the Best Initiative/Strategic Project award would be a recognition of the impact this initiative has had in fostering greater industry accountability and transparency. Voting is open now until 1 February 2025, and we encourage all stakeholders in the aesthetics community to vote for the JCCP.
