The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) proudly reflects on a year of significant progress and impact within the non-surgical cosmetic industry. Together, we have advanced safety, regulation, and professionalism, bringing us closer to a safer and more ethical sector. Here are our key highlights:
Advancing regulation
We continued to lead the way in shaping the UK’s non-surgical cosmetic licensing scheme, driving meaningful progress toward effective regulation that prioritises public safety.
Complaints handling
This year, we managed over 600 complaints, collaborating closely with the ASA, MHRA, and local authorities to address concerns and uphold standards across the industry.
High-risk procedures
Our advocacy for better regulation of high-risk procedures, such as Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL), remained unwavering, emphasising the importance of safety and accountability in these practices.
New Key Opinion Leaders
We were delighted to welcome esteemed experts Dalvi Humzah, Patrick Treacy, and Julie Scott to our network of Key Opinion Leaders, further strengthening our voice and expertise in the sector.
BAHRS partnership
Our partnership with the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (BAHRS) aimed to elevate standards in hair restoration, reinforcing our commitment to safety and best practices.
Guidance documents
In promoting safety, education, and improved industry standards, we provided detailed guidance documents to support practitioners and the public.
Education and training
Shaping the future of the industry, we introduced new qualification recommendations, paving the way for enhanced education and training for practitioners.
Insurance standards
We championed safety and excellence in aesthetic practice by promoting robust insurance standards for practitioners.
Remaining committed
We reaffirm our commitment to collaborating with the UK Government and national regulators to fully implement the non-surgical cosmetic licensing scheme.
